Many San Diegans give Barrio Logan little thought beyond it being a rising area for local artists and a great place to grab a bite to eat. And yet, this neighborhood off of Interstate 5 is one of the most historically and culturally significant areas in the city. As a culturally rich chicano neighborhood with an iconic history of activism, the very existence of Barrio Logan is a testament to the perseverance of a working-class, cultural minority against policies that seem bent on displacing their community.
